CCP has been working on cleaning up old missions and also taking some of the pressure off of the more popular mission hubs. Today, they announced twenty-three new level 4 agents in the hopes that people spread out a bit more.
Maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise to me, but the majority of mission runners hang out in Caldari space. As such, that’s where most of the new agents are located.
The content folks are also looking at reducing the number of smaller NPC ships in missions, especially in level 3 and onward. This should make battleship capsuleers quite happy and reduce load on the servers at the same time. The number of useless structures is also slated to be reduced considerably.
Shall we expect to see tougher ships in level 3 plus missions and fewer pesky frigates? Dare we hope for a clutter-free overview? Stay tuned.
Take a look at CCP’s Dev Blog post about New Level 4 Agents.
Kirith Kodachi of Inner Sanctum of the Ninveah came up with an interesting Eve meme today: “The Places I’ve Been”. The systems I have visited in EVE are shown as coloured dots in the image below. Go ahead and click the image for a larger view.
This feature only tracks where you have been since mid-2007 apparently, so a few places I’ve been to are missing. As you can see, I have spent most of my time since then in Gallente space. My last visit to 0.0 was in 2006 when I was looking for adventure with some friends. I really haven’t played much since then until a couple of months ago, except for logging in to keep my skills going.
If you want to post a similar image, just open up your map, click the Star Map tab and Color Stars by Systems I’ve visited under My Information.
I’ve compiled a list of drone data that I hope will be useful to those of us who love our drones. First, I have tabled the various drones, the race they belong to and what type of damage they do. But what good is knowing all of this if you don’t know which enemies to use the drones on?
To address that problem, there is a Drones by Enemy Faction table which should prove most useful. I have also listed drones of the same class together (light scout, medium scout, heavy, sentry, fighter) so that their characteristics can be compared.
As soon as I have some spare time, I will explain what terms such as DPS, falloff and tracking speed mean.

Clear Skies II is finally here! I wasn’t going to post another set of videos so soon, but I really can’t wait. Clear Skies came out in 2008 and was very well received. So much so that it won the Mackie Award for Best Long Format at Machinima Filmfest 2008. Clear Skies II will surely not disappoint.
Clear Skies is a groundbreaking machinima produced by Ian Chisholm, which takes place entirely within the galactic setting of EVE Online, known as New Eden. Any attempt to lump Clear Skies in with your run-of-the-mill machinima would be a disservice to the scope of the work; the film clocks in at just under 40 minutes and was a labor of love for two years in the lives of its creators.

Here are two videos from DireLauthris that I really enjoyed. Check them out:
Day of Darkness
This is a promo vid covering one of Eve-Online’s backstory Chronicles “The Day of Darkness”. It tells of when the Minmatar were first attacked and enslaved by the Amarrian Empire.

This film covers a bit from the Caldari-Gallente war. It’s set 200 years ago, before any of the 4 races had pod technology. I tried to use ships that may have been around back then, though sadly there’s not a huge amount of information that I could find.
See the Eve Chronicle The Breakout for the whole story.
Ever want to learn how to pirate or protect yourself from them? Check out this video. It’s very entertaining and educational at the same time. If you loved Wing Commander, you will love this. Yarr!

Ga’len of The Wandering Druid has compiled a list of EVE blogs in OPML format, so that they can easily be imported into the feed reader of your choice. Some of these blogs are now inactive, but are still worth reading. Access the file here.

May is shaping up to be a good month for my blog. I’d like to give you an idea of what to expect from me in the next month.
I plan to post several articles for the new player, or moderately experienced player who wants to branch out into new areas. I’m looking at doing posts on missions, industry, mining and exploration.
I’d love to have your feedback on what you think should be covered in these posts. Please drop me a comment with any ideas you may have.
In addition to the articles above, I will be posting videos and anything else that would (hopefully) be of interest to EVE players.
Until the next post …
EVE Blog Banter #7:
Welcome to the seventh installment of the EVE Blog Banter , the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by CrazyKinux . The EVE Blog Banter involves an enthusiastic group of gaming bloggers, a common topic within the realm of EVE Online, and a week to post articles pertaining to the said topic. The resulting articles can either be short or quite extensive, either funny or dead serious, but are always a great fun to read! Any questions about the EVE Blog Banter should be directed here . Check out other EVE Blog Banter articles at the bottom of this post!
This month’s topic comes to us from yours truly, and I ask: “What 3 things haven’t you done in EVE and why? Would you be willing to try one day? Why so? Why not?“
And here we go with my answers to this month’s topic!
#1 - Exploration
Exploration has really changed since I played last. This is something I definitely want to get involved in much more. I’ve trained all of the Astrometric skills and I am currently working on Survey V so I can get going on Archaeology. I have found gravimetric sites and wormholes, but I want to find a hacking or archaeological site and actually be able to do something with it.
There’s just something very alluring about flying around space and stumbling upon new things. Of course, I’d like to find some vulcans, but hacking sites will do.
#2 - T2 Production
The last time I played actively before I came back in February, you had to win a lottery to get a T2 BPO. Now that invention is around, I want to get into T2 production. I have wrapped my head around invention and picked up quite a few of the skills I need, so I will be getting into producing T2 items. I’ve even invented a couple of BPCs. First things first though, I need to learn about the market by selling some T1 items before I start selling T2 stuff. There’s no sense in going for T2 production if you don’t have a clue what you are doing. Baby steps.
#3 - Huge 0.0 battle
I’ve always wanted to be involved in a huge battle in 0.0. By huge, I mean the type of battle where titans are taken down and billions upon billions of isk are lost. It’s not really in line with what I normally do, but I want to do it anyway. I know that there would be a huge learning curve though, so that’s what has stopped me so far. Being a perfectionist, I hate being a noob at anything. That and the fact that I didn’t really have the skills until a few months ago. My character is very industry heavy, but I’ve been around long enough (skill swapping and not actively playing) that I am quite decent at other things now.
I think that pretty much covers my top three things I’d like to do, but that’s by no means all that I want to do. It’s very possible that some of what I said makes no sense because I may be running off of two year old information. If that’s the case, just ignore me. Everyone else does. *emo sighs like Marvin*

This is one of my favourite videos. It’s been out for a while, but it’s still quite funny. Just remember, carebears are not always docile.
